Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk has said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel.

"The fifth phone conversation between the President and Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel has just taken place. This extremely close and confidential personal contact between the two leaders is our most powerful political weapon to restore Ukraine's territorial integrity!" He wrote on Twitter on October 9.
As UNIAN reported earlier, in July, Zelensky discussed with Merkel, over the phone, ways to further accelerate peaceful settlement in Donbas. Special attention was paid to discussing the prospects for the implementation of bilateral investment projects.
