"The government is working as usual... I used to such reports in the media. Of course, I haven't written any statements. I haven't discussed the relevant topics with the president. I did see [Ukrainian banker and politician] Sergiy Tigipko, I really met with him like with many others," he said at a briefing following a government meeting on February 26, 2020.

"I have interviewed about 20 people over the past month; we really need to be strengthened by advisers, maybe even by people for some position in the government who understand very well what the industry is. Therefore, I had contacts with many people," Honcharuk said.

Earlier, a number of Ukrainian media, citing sources in the government, reported on Tigipko's possible appointment as prime minister.

The presidential press service has not responded to an UNIAN request for comment.

Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed he had met with Tigipko.
