“I have been in Mariupol many times, I know the situation regarding security in the city, so the relevant authorities must do everything to provide for holding of elections in Mariupol," said the head of state, the report stressed.

The president took into consideration the arguments of heads of MCAs Pavlo Zhebrivskiy and George Tuka and said he had instructed the Interior Minister to ensure the safety of voters, as well as protection of polling stations and election commissions, reads the report.

As UNIAN earlier reported, the Central Election Commission decided not to hold local elections in Mariupol and several other front-line cities of Donbas.
