"A separate place in the parade of inadequate ideas is taken by the initiative to break diplomatic relations with Russia. This topic is not new, it is periodically revived in Ukraine, and they do it exactly when it is necessary to divert public attention from growing problems," spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said at a briefing in Moscow.
At the same time, she stressed that, voicing such initiatives, the Ukrainian authorities do not see the consequences of such steps.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security and Defense, MP from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc parliamentary faction Ivan Vinnyk said he would propose that a clause foreseeing a severance of diplomatic relations with Russia be included in the Final Provisions of the draft law on Donbas reintegration.
