Ukrainian Health Minister Illia Yemets advocates the introduction of national emergency.
"I've been speaking about this since the first day of my work in government. This should have been done from the very beginning," he said on television, according to the ministry's press service.

"If this had been possible, then there would not have been such spreading, which is now happening geometrically," he said.
According to him, to effectively combat the spread of the coronavirus in Ukraine, all Ukrainians must take a socially responsible position, practice social distancing, abide by hygiene rules, and follow Health Ministry recommendations.
Yemets was appointed Health Minister early in March 2020.
