"On September 23 and 26, a large batch of small arms and ammunition was delivered from the village of Kuybyshevo in [Russia's] Rostov region. The arsenal is intended for arming the so-called 'territorial defense units' during the mobilization events," he told a briefing on September 28, referring to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate.
Hutsuliak said Russia continues to use the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions to create new military bases. In particular, one of the new secret bases for storage of weapons and ammunition has been arranged on the site of the former Luhansk knitting factory.
According to the official, the Russian weapons and ammunition were supplied to transfer them to the so-called "Cossack" units and regular formations (criminal gangs) in case of escalation of hostilities.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Anna Chabanova aka Sirena, a 28-year-old well-known terrorist in the so-called "Donetsk People's Republic" ("DPR"), who actively posted photos with weapons on the "advanced positions" of the Russian-led forces, was killed in Donbas.
