The Ukrainian Joint Forces Operation Headquarters (JFO HQ) has disclosed the enemy death toll in Donbas, eastern Ukraine, since the start of the newly-agreed truce.

"According to the Joint Forces' intelligence data, over two and a half weeks of the truce, the enemy's irreplaceable losses totaled nine killed and 15 wounded as a result of careless handling of weapons, road accidents, stepping on improvised explosive devices," the JFO HQ wrote on Facebook on August 12, 2020.

Morale among the Russian Federation's occupying forces is very low, namely there are "suicides and desertions of personnel, the use of alcohol and drugs do not stop."

The Joint Forces Command emphasizes the military personnel of the Joint Forces will always give a worthy rebuff in case of a threat to the life and health of Ukrainian soldiers or attempts by the Russian Federation's armed formations to seize territories.

Background

Participants in the Trilateral Contact Group (Ukraine, Russia, and the OSCE) on the peace settlement in Donbas on July 22 agreed on a full and comprehensive ceasefire along the contact line from July 27.

The new ceasefire regime was enforced at 00:01 Kyiv time on July 27.
