The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 16 million patients as of July 27.

As many as 16,262,481 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported as of 08:35 on July 27, according to the Coronavirus COVID-19 Global Cases dashboard by the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The overall death toll is 648,937 people, while 9,407,423 coronavirus patients have already recovered.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (146,935 people), Brazil (87,004), the United Kingdom (45,837), Mexico (43,680), Italy (35,107), India (32,771), and France (30,195).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (4,234,020 confirmed cases), Brazil (2,419,091), India (1,435,616), Russia (811,073), South Africa (445,433), Mexico (390,516), Peru (375,961), Chile (345,790), and the United Kingdom (301,020).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
