"I haven't dismissed him yet. I'm thinking about this... I'll definitely talk with Mr. Klitschko before I decide to fire him," the president said at a press marathon on October 10, 2019, an UNIAN correspondent reports.

Zelensky added he supported the separation of functions of mayor of Kyiv and head of Kyiv City State Administration, as well as a bill on the capital.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's presidential administration Andriy Bohdan sent a letter to Minister of the Cabinet, Oleksandr Saenko, with a request to submit a motion to dismiss Vitaliy Klitschko as head of Kyiv City State Administration.

The then Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka said: "In accordance with the Law of Ukraine 'On local state administrations,' the heads of the local state administrations are designated by the president of Ukraine upon submission of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for the term of the cadence of president of Ukraine."

He recalled that Klitschko had been appointed by the former president of Ukraine as the head of Kyiv City State Administration in June 2014.

"Accordingly, the prime minister must fulfill a requirement of the law and make a submission on the dismissal of the head of Kyiv City State Administration," Riaboshapka said. According to him, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman submitted a motion to dismiss all heads of local state administrations, except for the head of Kyiv City State Administration.

In turn, Klitschko said he considers actions to dismiss him from the post of KSCA chairman unconstitutional.

On September 4, the Cabinet of Ministers, Ukraine's government, greenlighted the dismissal of Klitschko as head of Kyiv City State Administration.
