The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world exceeded 39 million patients as of October 16.

The highest death toll was recorded in the United States (217,747 people), Brazil (152,460), India (112,161), Mexico (85,285), the United Kingdom (43,383), Italy (36,372), and Peru (33,577).

The countries most affected by the coronavirus pandemic include the United States (7,982,291 confirmed cases), India (7,370,468), Brazil (5,169,386), Russia (1,361,317), Argentina (949,063), Colombia (936,982), Spain (921,374), and Peru (859,740).

As many as 188 countries have been affected by the virus.
